U.S. Scott 991 is part of a four-stamp set to honor the 150th anniversary of the nation’s capital. The stamp pictures the U.S. Supreme Court Building to illustrate the Judicial branch of government. The building was completed in 1935. Before then, the Supreme Court met in various parts of the U.S. Capitol building.
