This stamp features a picture of the Statue of Liberty's torch. “Lifting her lamp beside the golden door,” the Statue of Liberty welcomed millions of immigrants to America. Although she was often greeted with cheering, singing, and dancing, more often she was met with a profound and reverent silence.
