Unused vintage 32 cent Merian Botanicals postage stamps. Anna Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717) is recognized as one of the greatest female artists of the 17th century. A German naturalist and scientist, Merian's illustrations shed light on the mysterious transitions of plants and insects as they develop throughout their life cycles.
