Scott 1012 commemorates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The stamp shows the progress in civil engineering through bridges over the first 100 years. In the lower left is an 1852-era covered bridge. To the right is the George Washington Bridge in front of the New York City skyline.
